Info for Utopia
For her fourth album as a leader, pianist Leïla Olivesi was inspired by interplanetary travel invented in his novels by writer Cyrano de Bergerac in the seventeenth century. Between Utopia and social criticism, adventure novels and philosophical discourse, the 'States and Empires of the Sun and the Moon' was a major work of his time that foreshadows science fiction. A modern work in which music is a universal language! At the head of an adventurous quartet in which guitarist Manu Codjia shines and reinforced on half of the tracks by the American saxophonist David Binney, it delivers a warm and colourful music in the spirit of utopia and travel.
