Info for time of silence
Dino Rubino
Sicilian pianist and trumpet player, made his entrance into the top floors of Italian jazz by winning the 1998 “Premio Internazionale Massimo Urbani” for Best New Talent. He also played in the band of Francesco Cafiso. In 2000 Rubino, at the request of Furio Di Castri, participated in the Young Artists of Europe project which, for a couple of years, saw him give concerts in Turin, Sarajevo, Israel, Stockholm. In 2011 Paolo Fresu called him to record for his label, Tŭk Music, for which he has made most of his albums. Rubino is a member of the trio of the Sardinian trumpeter for the Tempo di Chet project, presented at this edition of Umbria Jazz Winter, and also performs with him in duo. Rubino has also worked with Riccardo Cisi on the beautiful album of the Turin saxophonist dedicated to Lester Young and, in the last summer edition of Umbria Jazz, presented his project On Jazz Trio at the National Gallery of Umbria, again with Cisi and with Paolino Dalla Porta on double bass. One of Rubino's most riveting projects is his piano solo performance, set in the Roaming Heart album.
