Shigeo Mito
He studied in Spain at Oscar Espla National Conservatory in Alicante and Royal Conservatory in Madrid. He studied lute under José Miguél Moreno and Hopkinson Smith, and the playing style under W. R. Talsma. His publication includes three volumes of ‘Lute Methods:for Renaissance,for BaroqueⅠ,Ⅱ’, edition of‘J.S. Bach Works for Lute’,and his CDs include‘Works for lute by J.S. Bach and S.L. Weiss Vol.Ⅰ,Vol.Ⅱ’,‘Vihuela Music Vol.1: O Gloriosa Domina,Vol.Ⅱ: Endechas Si los delfines mueren de amores’, ‘French Baroque music: Vol.Ⅰ La Rêveuse, Vol.Ⅱ La Fière’ and ‘Let’s Travel around Europe by Lute Music Part I- The Renaissance Era,Part Ⅱ-The Baroque Era,and Part Ⅲ-Theorbo. Recently he is actively involved in various music scenes as a leading lute player in Japan and abroad. He is a director of Japan Vihuela Association, the chairman of N&S Early Music Society and a lecturer of Tokyo College of Music.
