Info zu Russie céleste
Christoph Deluze is an outstanding musician and an exceptional performer of Russian music. He imbues his performances with a conviction and strength that emanate from the very depth of his being as well as from Imperial Russia!
Christoph Deluze, piano
Christoph Deluze
began his first musical studies at the Neuchâtel conservatory as a pupil of Dinu Lipatti. He then went to the Guild HallSchool of Music of London in the piano class of E. Philipp. During this period he was one of the few pianists who was able to work with Shura Cherkassky.
His further studies with Dagobert Buchholz in Vienna were very important for his future musical development. As Bucholz had met and knew Rachmaninoff, Katchaturian, Chostakovich as well as, of course, most major interpreters of Russian music, he was able to transmit to Deluze the interest and appropriate emotions for an enlightened understanding of the Russian repertoire. Dagobert BUCHHOLZ was also the friend of Vladimir SOFRONITSKY, son-in-law of Alexander SCRIABIN and one of the legendary interpreters of this composer. Christoph DELUZE has directly received a musical heritage of the very particular way SCRIABIN interpreted these works (not always annotated in the partitions).
He received awards at several international competitions and played in many major European concert halls: London, Barcelona (Teatro del Liceo), Vienna, Krakow, Brussels, Geneva (Victoria Hall), Minsk and Belgrade. He has also given concerts in Greece and India. He participated five times in the music festival “La Schubertiade” of the Radio Suisse Romande, and several concerts were broadcast live.
In 2000 he made a tour of concerts in Switzerland with the Fribourg Symphony Orchestra, with a CD-live (Rimsky-Korsakov, Arensky, Tchaikovsky). In 2007 he has been invited by the Philarmonia of Bielorussia for the Festival (“Spring in Minsk”) with a standing ovation for his interpretation of Scriabin.
Since then he regularly worked with the clarinetist and conductor Pierre GACHOUD, also promoter of the OSF orchestra. This conductor is an expert of the Russian music and has undoubtedly advanced Christoph DELUZE in this repertoire. (He is in fact the musical director of most of his recordings.)
With Stephane CHARLES (pianist and organizer of cultural events) Christoph DELUZE has initiated several multicultural events in which he also participated as musician. Around a theme (water, Russia, liberty) several performers express themselves through music, philosophy, painting, poetry, sculpture and even science in the spirit that different forms of artistic expression, literature and philosophy are complementary and universal (as SCRIABIN had expressed in the beginning of the 20 th century). Notable participants at these multicultural events have been the philosopher Alexandre JOLLIEN , the painters and sculptors Ronald DUPONT and Françoise LANDOWSKY.
Christoph Deluze has played on radio and TV programs in Europe, Australia, Japan and U.S: Radio Suisse Romande Espace 2, DRS 2, France Musique, SWR 3 Köln, Radio Television Belge Musique 3, Klassik Heute, VRT, Concertzender Neederlands, VARA, WGBH Boston, Radio-TV of Bielorussia, Medici-TV and the BBC.
