Brunsvik String Trio
The three members of the Brunsvik String Trio found each other in their shared quest to bring to life perhaps the most intimate form of chamber music; the string trio. Discovering this uniquely challenging repertoire together, in the light of their considerable collective string quartet experience as individual members of the Chilingirian, Rubens and Brindisi string quartets, has been an inspiring journey.
The string trio, named after Beethoven’s ‘immortal beloved’ Josephine von Brunsvik consists of violinist Quirine Scheffers, violist Ásdís Valdimarsdóttir and cellist Michael Stirling. The trio formed in 2010 under the name Quimias Trio. They have performed extensively in the Netherlands and abroad and enjoyed collaborations with such fine artists as pianist Klára Würtz, oboist Pauline Oostenrijk, and guitarist Izhar Elias. In 2015 they recorded the string trio by Jacques Goudappel for a CD of his chamber music
