Biographie Ian Broudie


Ian Zachary Broudie
was born in Liverpool to Dennis and Renee Broudie. He started out in the band Big in Japan in the late 1970s in post-punk era in Liverpool. When the band broke up, Broudie began writing and recording at home on his own and in 1990 the album Cloudcuckooland was released under the name The Lightning Seeds. After the second album Sense in 1992, Broudie set up a more formal studio and began producing other artists, including Alison Moyet. By the time the third album Jollification was being produced, Broudie formed a band and began playing live. The album which was released in 1994 sold in excess of 900,000 copies. In 1996 Broudie was asked to compose a song for the English football team for Euro '96. He collaborated with Frank Skinner and David Baddiel and Three Lions reached No 1, with another version charting again in 1998 during the World Cup. After a long break Broudie is currently working on another Lightning Seeds album.
