Biographie George Hurd
George Hurd
is a San Francisco-based electro-acoustic composer / electronic musician whose work focuses on electronic music, classical composition, and the endless world where they intersect. He heads the electro-acoustic group The Hurd Ensemble, performing his compositions for chamber ensemble and electronics. His work often fixates on the role of memory and location in music, basing pieces on sounds recorded from his life and on his extensive travels, each encapsulating a specific memory from the place and time they were recorded. His newest endeavor and foredooming record, Echolocation, takes this idea even further, as a travel-centric subscription project that focuses on his music made from location-specific audio recordings captured while traveling across Europe, New Zealand, North America and Africa.
