Olivier Godin
Born in Montreal, Olivier Godin enjoys a brilliant career both in Canada and abroad. He is a pianist-coach at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music and is co-director of the Opera Studio at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal. He teaches at the Orford Arts Centre’s summer academy where he directs the vocal accompaniment program. Olivier Godin has appeared in recital in New York, Paris, Venice and London with such vocal artists as François Le Roux, MarcBoucher, Aline Kutan, Anne Saint-Denis, Pascale Beaudin and Bruno Laplante. His impressive discography already includes many award-winning recordings of French mélodie as well as a solo piano recording and a recording of Rachmaninov’s complete works for two pianos with the pianist Myriam Farid. A pupil of the celebrated teacher Raoul Sosa, Olivier Godin received the Prix avec grande distinction from the Consevatoire de musique de Montréal, in both piano performance and chamber music.
