The London Oratory Schola Cantorum Boys Choir
Biographie The London Oratory Schola Cantorum Boys Choir
The Schola Cantorum of the London Oratory School
one of the country’s leading liturgical choirs, sings at the Brompton Oratory, London, every Saturday evening in term time and on major feast days for School Mass throughout the year, as well as at services in the school’s chapel. Charles Cole was appointed Director of the Schola in 2012.
Founded in 1996, the choir gives Catholic boys the opportunity of a choral education within the state education system from age 7 to 18. Such a unique opportunity is made possible by the close association between the School and the London Oratory.
The Schola has established itself as a leading boys’ choir and has recorded numerous soundtracks, including the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter films, as well as CDs and programmes for television and radio. The choir has also toured abroad, performing in the USA, Italy, Germany and France.
Directed by Charles Cole, the prestigious ‘Schola’ is regarded as one of London’s leading boy-choirs, in demand for concert and soundtrack work. The London Oratory Schola Cantorum Boys Choir will be the first choir to release an album under a new international recording partnership with AimHigher Recordings/Sony Classical.
