Rounded Nature ist das Debütalbum von Micheal Murray's Colourfield, einer Gruppe um den irischen Saxophonisten Micheal Murray. Die Musik zielt darauf ab, eine Bewegung des Wandels im Leben über die letzten Jahre einzufangen und einen Klang zu reflektieren, der den Höhepunkt von Einflüssen aus der Natur, dem Licht und dem Leben darstellt, um einen Raum der Einheit und des Ausdrucks sowohl für den Zuhörer als auch für die Musiker zu schaffen.

Zu Micheal Murray's Colourfield gehören Joy Shechter (Klavier), Omer Govreen (Kontrabass) und Wouther Kühne (Schlagzeug). Im Laufe der Jahre, in denen die Band zusammen spielt, hat sie dieses Ethos verstanden und ein Umfeld geschaffen, in dem der Einzelne existiert, während sie gleichzeitig als Gruppe zusammenhält und diese gemeinsamen Werte als etwas Heiliges betrachtet.

are Michael Murray, alto saxophone; Joy Shechter, piano; Omer Govreen, double bass, and Ilia Rayskin, drums. The band is very cohesive and mature,' the jury said. 'With beautiful compositions and form and a wonderful saxophone sound. We want to express our special appreciation for the concentration on stage and the high level of playing!'

Micheál Murray
is an award winning saxophonist based in Amsterdam. The 27 year old saxophonist comes from Donegal, Ireland. He has been referred to as a 'rising star' of Irish jazz and since beginning his professional career has performed with international artists such as Jason Rebello, Lucian Gray, and Phil Robson, and has studied with some of the worlds most renowned saxophonists and musicians such as Tommy Smith, Ben Van Gelder, Andy Middleton and Jaleel Shaw.

He leads the project Micheál Murray's Colourfield, winners of the prestigious Keep an Eye Records 2024. This project pursues a sound that is the culmination of deeply personal influences from life, music, art and poetry. He also produces under the moniker of MIMU, a solo project that crosses between the worlds of live electronics and saxophone. As a sideperson he currently works with Samuel Kiel's Sonic Choir of Love, Chai Masters, NITA and Perpetual Bike Crash.
