Reifegerste Trio
Biography Reifegerste Trio
Simone Reifegerste
Berlin native Simone Reifegerste, of whom 'Audio' magazine wrote 'Many famous singers would be happy to have just a little of her expressiveness', founded the Reifegerste Trio together with well-known Czech saxophonist and flutist Joe Kučera.
Kučera, also being tagged ‚Sensational Saxophone Joe', is an internationally known jazz musician and also an appraised veteran of the Berlin american singer/songwriter scene in the 70s and 80s.
Vladimír Strnad, the Prague-born pianist, film composer and member of the Prague National Theater, has been completing the trio since 2019.
The Reifegerste Trio plays its unique blend of original compositions and carefully selected jazz and pop classics in both unmistakable and also entertaining ways. They just have that certain rare ability to create a one of a kind intense atmosphere, consisting of amazing warmth and depth which completely captures audiences. A voice like Simone’s simply istn’t found anywhere anymore.
Their debut album was a raw and pure live recording from one magic night in Berlin’s ‚Oxident‘ club. Simpy called LIVE AT OXIDENT, it was released as early as 2007.
The Trio’s highly anticipated first studio album AM I followed in 2011. It was recorded live in only two days - in the living room of a long-time fan who let the Trio use his exquisite Bechstein grand piano.
2021 saw the release of saxophone player Joe Kučera's long-awaited solo album TAKE A HEART. Recorded and produced at classic Studio Forstmehren by Simone Reifegerste and Tom Dams, the album also heavily features Simone on vocals and Vladimír on piano. TAKE A HEART again was celebrated by fans and critics alike and has been presented at numerous Reifegerste Trio club and festival appearances in Germany and the Czech Republic.
