Info for Seelenübervoll
The debut album of pianist Friederike Sieber Seelenübervoll is featuring lieder from the late Romantic period and works by Alma Mahler, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Richard Strauss, and Alexander von Zemlinsky are performed. This production of five outstanding young singers resurrects the musical salon’s idea and gifts us a wealth of rarely performed songs. The turn of the century 1900 was a time “brimming” with sensation and an exuberant soul: the exceptional young performers enable us to feel extreme emotional states through their interpretations, which tell of an extraordinary and artistically fruitful epoch.
Julia Moorman, soprano
Amelie Petrich, soprano
Nora Steuerwald, mezzo-soprano
Michael Porter, tenor
Marcel Brunner, bass-baritone
Friederike Sieber, piano
Friederike Sieber
who hails from Schwäbisch Gmünd, discovered her passion for the art song early on. She studied at the music universities in Nuremberg, Mannheim, and Hamburg, where her teachers included Heike-Dorothee Allardt and Burkhard Kehring. She gained special inspiration through numerous courses with Brigitte Fassbaender.
Friederike Sieber earned her concert exam with distinction in Global Art Song. She is a sought-after lied pianist of the younger generation, whose often conceptual artistic work has been awarded several prizes. Concert tours have already taken her through-out Europe.
Julia Moorman
Born in the U.S., Julia Moorman studied at Amherst College, the Hamburg University of Music and Theater, and the August Everding Theater Academy in Munich and was a member of the opera studio in Frankfurt. Her guest engagements have taken her to the Salzburg State Theater, Nuremberg State Theater, and Leipzig Opera.
Concerts with the Braunschweig State Orchestra and Kiel Philharmonic Orchestra, at the Richard Strauss Festival and Festival d’Aix-en-Provence as well as song recitals on Sylt and in Hamburg and Munich round out her concert career. Julia Moorman is a winner of the Richard Strauss Competition.
Amelie Petrich
The versatile lyrical coloratura soprano Amelie Petrich grew up in a musical home in Hagen. After studying voice in Mannheim, she was a member of the opera studio at the Theater Freiburg.
From 2018 to 2022, Amelie Petrich was engaged at the Theater Nordhausen, where she performed in the major roles of her voice type such as Gretel, Pamina, Adele, and Adina.
She has given guest performances at the theaters in Freiburg, Hagen, Gießen, Münster, and Mannheim. Since September 2022, Amelie Petrich has sung as first soprano in the Leipzig Opera Chorus.
Nora Steuerwald
can be heard frequently in the major alto roles of the concert repertoire. She has sung these roles at the Laeiszhalle Hamburg, the Konzerthaus Blaibach and the Gewandhaus Leipzig, among others. She made her operatic debut during her studies and has been a member of the ensemble at Oper Leipzig starting with the 22/23 season.
Her artistic work is rounded out by radio and CD productions with Frieder Bernius and Gerold Huber. Nora Steuerwald is a scholarship winner of the Internationale Sächsische Sängerakademie Torgau and winner of the international Singing competition Cantate-Bach! in Greifswald.
