Info for Antropomorfi

Two years after the critically acclaimed album A new world with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, another surprise from Knut Reiersrud. Where he gets all his ideas from is anyone's guess. Apparently there's no end in sight, because he has now written eight songs dedicated to unfortunate animals that have come into contact with us humans. Among the rewritten songs are several that must be considered involuntary A-list celebrities, such as Freya, Hvaldimir and the Harbour Master.

For almost 40 years, Knut Reiersrud has been playing his guitars and delighting audiences around the world.

His play with stringed instruments - both musically and visually - can be regarded as a total experience. King Harald said after a Reiersrud concert in South Africa that he had never before seen a musician physically disappear into his instrument like Knut. President Tabu Mbeki offered Reiersrud a South African passport if he played an encore at the same concert.

Knut has released a series of discs - both solo albums and albums with various constellations over the years. He has received the Spellemann Award for 3 of them (nominated 11 times), and he has also received a Danish Grammy award. He has played with greats such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, Mighty Sam McClain and David Lindley to name a few.

Reiersrud plays blues, folk music, Indian, African, jazz and soul, as well as being a fantastic improviser. In addition to all his own albums, Knut has appeared on over 300 record releases and has toured countless times on every continent in the world.

Knut has reached the age of 56 and can safely be called a living legend. The blues is in his backbone after an apprenticeship in Chicago and New York with musicians such as Dr John and Buddy Guy.
