Info for Essence
How often does youth and maturity walk hand in hand? With this group of young Finnish musicians one could say it does. And it's not just maturity alone. This talented group also has the skill and know-how to turn inspiration into reality.
Genre-wise you might say Kasperi Sarikoski & Nuance move somewhere in between jazz and rock. That, of course, has already been done many a time. However, this band aims to make the music sound their own. Have they succeeded? Well, that you must find out for yourself.

Each member of the band represents the crest of a new wave of Finnish musicians. The leader, trombonist Kasperi Sarikoski, has performed with some of the most renowned jazz artists of our time - Jerry Bergonzi, Peter Erskine and Dave Liebman, to name a few.
Guitarist Jere Haakana has also worked with many highly rated domestic artists - both in jazz and beyond - including folk band Värttinä.
And while pianist Artturi Rönkä is one of the newcomers on the scene, he has already been nominated "Artist of the Year" by the Pori Jazz Festival, the third largest festival in Finland. He is also the winner of the international "Jazzverk" big band composition competition in 2012.
Bassist Vesa Ojaniemi ranks amongst the most skilled bass players in Finland - both on upright bass and electric bass. He has performed with several high profile Finnish artists such as Iiro Rantala and Severi Pyysalo.
And finally, there's drummer Jonatan Sarikoski, considered one of the premium Finnish drummers today, having an impressive resume of musical credits under his belt. He has co-operated with many of Finland's jazz heavyweights, such as Jukka Perko, Severi Pyysalo and Jukka Tolonen.
