Gary Numan
The original electro punk, Gary Numan brought punk attitude to the icy world of synth pop. The creative force behind Tubeway Army, Numan, penned the band’s 1979 number one Are Friends Electric – an enduring masterclass in synth pop.
His major breakthrough as a solo artist came the following year when he released Cars. It topped the charts on both sides of Atlantic and made his album the Pleasure Principle a certified hit.
A genuine icon and innovator, Numan has gone on to collaborate with the likes of Nine Inch Nails and is preparing to release his next album, Splinter.
