Info for La Ligne de Kármán
No tricks, all music. This is how you could describe this young trio's astonishing second album "la ligne de Karman", where intricate rhythms run under often deeply moving melodies. Nothing ever seems too complex for these three French virtuoso musicians, and they seem to make a point of blurring the lines between composition and improvisation, helped by a cunning sense of orchestration and nuance ; yet every single note they play always has a purpose and serves the story that each tune (often born from a collective or individual improvisation, and then gently nurtured by the trio during long work sessions in their lair in Northern France) holds in itself.
Seeing them live is yet another experience, and the chance to witness their ability to groove really hard. They easily conquer non-jazz audiences with their passionate playing, sweeping melodies, and inspired musicianship.
