Info for Ollas Paletti

Original mixture: There is a gospel vibe throughout the record, which is strongly influenced by the background vocals. In my arrangements, I tried to put the band collective at the centre. Instead of instrumental solo interludes, I wanted to explore what is possible with an excellent live band. The band plays with tempo, dynamics and mood that it is a joy.

As a producer, I wanted to make a statement - all tricks and gimmicks were deliberately dispensed with. We set up in a circle and recorded the record live on an 8-track tape recorder in two days.

The thing breathes, pumps, is direct and comes along with a lot of mojo.

"Blues is not a melancholic or even depressing genre for him. "Music is supposed to get you out of such states. Blues is not automatically sad, but the music is in a dilemma because of such a false perception and therefore has to fight for relevance. But if you get into it, you realise anyway how full of life this music is." For Schneider, music must have something constructive, must not be destructive. That doesn't mean it has to be superficial and light. "It can be deeply sad ballads, but they also have something uplifting in their beauty." (Karl Fluch, derstandard.de)
