The album’s title "Was vom Träumen übrig bleibt" talks about the little which is left when you are in the middle of waking up. The songs by Karin Grabein sound as if they are coming right out of these moments in between dream and vigil – sometimes dreamily looking back, sometimes wide awake heading towards a new reality.

Dreams are something very personal: No matter if in clear pictures or blurry visions, the mix up wishes with memories, experiences with fantasies, fears with hope. Everything left over after waking up is what Karin Grabein records with her songs and is drawing a mosaic between reality and inner imagination.

Besides manifold arrangements showing a wide diversity of composition from duo parts to orchestral wind sections, the multilingualism of the lyrics is another speciality of this album. With a wink these little stories and personal moments permit a brief insight in the intimacy of the singer.

Karin Grabein
studierte Jazzgesang bei Romy Camerun an der Hochschule für Musik Theater und Medien Hannover. Im Laufe ihres Studiums performte sie bereits mit Jazzgrößen wie Christian McBride, Glauco Venier und Peter O'Mara auf der Bühne und stand mit den Swingle Singers im Studio.
