Ekaterina Afanasieva is a concert harpist and a prize winner of international music competitions. She received a Master of Music Degree in Performance with distinction in Moscow and completed her postgraduate study in the Conservatoire of Hamburg with the highest award. Based in Germany as a freelance harpist, she performs in Europe, U.S., the Middle East and around the world.

Ekaterina Afanasieva completed her musical studies in Moscow as a qualified concert harpist, orchestral musician and harp instructor with a Master of Music degree in Performance, as well as with subsequent postgraduate studies at the Hamburg Conservatory, graduating from both institutions with highest honours. Master classes with Chantal Mathieu, Susanna McDonald and Erika Waardenburg enriched her musical education.
The extensive repertoire of Ekaterina Afanasieva comprises music of various styles and eras: works for solo harp, chamber music and concertos for harp and orchestra.
She has performed at many international festivals such as the "World Harp Congress”, "International Harp Festival Sentmenat", "Marocco Music Festival”, “Hohenloher Kultursommer".
As an orchestral musician she plays in the Symphony Orchestra Voralberg, at the South-West Philharmony, Württemberg Philharmony Reutlingen, Würth Philharmony and others.
Her supreme music arrangements for harp and numerous recordings for the CD label "Arpa Nueva" attest to the harpist's versatility as well as her sensitivity and vivacious musicality.
Ekaterina Afanasieva can be heard worldwide: in Germany, Austria, France, Morocco, Spain, Portugal, Russia, the USA, Switzerland, the Netherlands,
China and Japan.
