Taylor studied music at Chapman University on Presidential scholarship and headed Newport Institute of the Arts music department in Southern California, studied privately at the home of virtuoso Pepe Romero, as well as privately with Frederick Noad author of the classic book "Solo Guitar Playing" and in Master Classes with the great American Virtuoso, Christopher Parkening. Taylor has had a long and distinguished career, performing extensively for years throughout Europe, North and South America and Asia. In addition to concerts, Taylor has recorded extensively on the Classical International label in the USA and the Empire Master Sound Prestige label in Europe. His recorded pieces are so technically demanding that few can attempt them, much less perform them flawlessly... it has been said that the notes seem to just flow out of his fingers.

The critical success of Taylor's playing has been uniform. Rave reviews from around the world have established him internationally as "A Master in his field" -Barbados Advocate "Larger-than-life" -Stereo Review " A California native Mr. Taylor represented the United States as an American Cultural Specialist in South America and the Caribbean sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts (Arts America program)
He has performed sold-out concerts for such luminaries as UN delegates American Ambassadors and foreign heads of State.During his formative years in the 1970s and 80s Taylor studied music at Chapman University on full Presidential scholarship and was head of the music department at the Newport Institute of the Arts in Southern California. He studied privately for years at the home of the great virtuoso Pepe Romero and was also was a private student of Frederick Noad whose PBS series was a staple of American life. Noad was a founding member of the Guitar Foundation of America and authored the classic book "Solo Guitar Playing" "Jonathan Taylor has the will and ability to become a major musical figure" -Frederick Noad (1981)

Taylor has had a long and distinguished career. He is known for his virtuosity and unique transcriptions and adding materially to the guitars repertoire. Mr. Taylor performed extensively for years throughout Europe, North and South America and Asia.. Mr. Taylor was a ground breaker and saw the digital age coming He was one of the 1st artists to record digitally back in the early 1990's. He set about creating a Catalog (over 300 Tracks) that have few if any equals. The Beatles have recorded less material than Mr. Taylor.
