With the album “Trijntje sings Vrienten with Vrienten together with Residentie Orkest Den Haag” Trijntje Oosterhuis and Xander Vrienten pay tribute With the album “Trijntje sings Vrienten with Vrienten together with Residentie Orkest Den Haag” Trijntje Oosterhuis and Xander Vrienten pay tribute to composer, singer, bassist, guitarist and Doe Maar legend Henny Vrienten. You can hear arrangements of songs from his three most recent solo albums. Trijntje Oosterhuis and Henny Vrienten have known each other since the beginning of Trijntje's career and were fans of each other's work.

The sincerity and recognisability of the lyrics of 'Dutch best songwriter' have an enormous appeal to Trijntje. They also worked together several times. For example, Henny wrote the lyrics to Fly with me for Trijntje and Trijntje sang his song It's not about on Henny's seventieth birthday.

The idea for an album with songs by Henny Vrienten comes from Trijntje. In consultation with Henny himself, Trijntje and Henny's son Xander decided to only choose songs from his last three solo albums – And yet..., Everything is different and Between the lines – which he considered his most personal. Henny was proud and honored with the project and urged Trijntje and Xander to make the album.
