Info for The Glass Hours

Award-winning bassist and composer, Linda May Han Oh leads this dynamic group of musicians on The Glass Hours: a collection of works based on abstract themes of the fragility of time and life; exploring paradoxes seeded within our individual and societal values.

Everyone is talking about Linda May Han Oh! Originally from Malaysia and raised in Boorloo/Perth in Australia, Oh continues to go from strength-to-strength as one of the world's leading jazz bassists. From playing with Pat Metheny to featuring on the recent GRAMMY Award-winning project fronted by Terri Lyne Carrington, everyone has been seeking out Oh's commanding presence on both the upright and electric basses. The Aussie is also about to release a new record, and we're giving her latest session a spin all week. It's entitled The Glass Hours, and it features a host of new material by Oh, with songs delving into our mortality and the way in which we use our time here on planet earth. This record also features a star cast of side-artists, including Portuguese singer Sara Serpa, Cuban pianist Fabian Almazan and Americans Obed Calvaire on drums and Mark Turner on sax.
