Info for C'est Chic (Remastered)

Chic’s second album, C’est Chic, arrived in 1978 at the height of disco armed with a monster smash dubbed “Le Freak.” With its indelible chant – “Ah, freak out! – the song instantly became a staple on dance floors across the country. The scratchy guitars, a Chic signature, and the soulfully floating female vocals mixed with a groovilicious rhythm section that made the tune irresistible. It topped the pop charts for six weeks and spent five weeks at the pinnacle on the R&B list. It cemented guitarist-producer Nile Rodgers as a formidable force in the dance music industry.

C’est Chic, a million-seller, also spawned the Top 10 hit “I Want Your Love,” a super-smooth disco ballad. Sporting a couple of suave album cuts, “Savoir Faire” and “At Last I Am Free,” C’est Chic sashayed in sophistication.
