Info for North of the River
Pianist and composer Alberto L. Ferro presents his latest album for piano solo "North of the River", a collection of new works where composition meets improvisation.
Emerging from his classical and jazz background Ferro's music explores the poetic and lyrical corners of modern expressivity.
His creative influences span from jazz, rock to early Baroque and Contemporary Art music: the piano becomes the channel for immediacy and intense communication.
As the result of few years of work, "North of the River" is a further exploration of the boundary between writing and making music, the line where composition is joined by improvisation.
"I aimed at merging many of my deepest creative visions into unique piano solo pieces, crossing genres and styles. You will find drama, joy, opportunity for peaceful reflection and intense expressive extremes."
