Info for The Incident
Is this Vangelis, Jarre or Yello? No. Electronic crossover? Somehow. Is this Klangwelt? Definitely! „The Incident“ is something special, because on his fourth album Gerald Arend aka Klangwelt creates a blend of extraordinary elements and selected sounds to produce an unusual and captivating opus.
Soft and warm harmonies meet technical sounds, dreamy melodies meet bizarre tone patterns. Accentuated beats and sequences, sometimes minimalistic and sometimes powerful, cosmic spheres and speech quotes are arranged into exciting compositions, accompanied by bizarre and sometimes excentric sound creations and strange vocal samples. The atmospherically flowing tracks play with feelings of wellness and threat that arouse tension and power, but also let the listener calm down again in the next moment. Dreamy atmospheres are interwoven by decent discords, strange parts are enriched by harmonic elements, traditional sounds are combined with innovative sound experiments. A fantastic, excellently produced journey of sound, full of charming contrasts.
Klangwelt
Klangwelt
(German for “world of sound”) is the musical project of Gerald Arend, a German audio-designer who is working for the multimedia and computer games industry. His music is based on the tradition of European electronic music, combining influences of artists such as Jean-Michel Jarre, Vangelis and Yello with a unique blend of rich tone colours and sometimes unpredictable harmonic ideas. Further trademarks are his catchy, minimalistic melodies, grooving rhythms and playful sample gimmicks.
