Info for Myrthen, Op. 25: No. 24 - Du bist wie eine Blume

Hailed as a ‘new cello genius’, Pablo Ferrández is a captivating performer. His debut album, Reflections, won an Opus Klassik Award, and in autumn 2022, he released his second album, featuring the Brahms Double Concerto with the violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter and the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, and Clara Schumann’s Piano Trio with Mutter and Lambert Orkis. Accompanied tonight by his regular performance partner, the exceptional pianist Luis Del Valle, he will play a richly varied programme starting with De Falla’s 7 Canciones Populares, then moving into powerful, romantic territory with Beethoven’s Sonata for Cello and Piano no. 3, Rachmaninov’s Vocalise and Franck’s Sonata in A major.

“Pop-idol magnetism, superb technique and exhilarating musicality reveal a sure star in the making” (Los Angeles Times)

“Pablo Ferrández is truly special. Great sound, very refined vibrato, flawless left and right hand and a true musician.” (Anne-Sophie Mutter)
