Mariana Flores
studied singing at the University of Cuyo in Argentina, with Silvia Nasiff and Maria Teresa D'Amico. She then went on to study at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Rosa Dominguez. She is currently studying in Bologna with Fernando Cordeiro Opa.
In recent years, the flamboyant soprano has established herself as an essential interpreter of the Baroque repertoire, taking part in opera productions at the Paris Opera, the Grand Théâtre de Genève, the Opéra Comique (Paris), the Dijon Opera, the Aix-en-Provence Festival and the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. She works regularly under the direction of Leonardo García Alarcón. She has also collaborated - among others - with Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Christina Pluhar, Vincent Dumestre, Teodor Currentzis and Gabriel Garrido.
She has performed in the world's greatest festivals and has sung on every continent: in Asia, Europe and South America including more than 60 performances of Diluvio Universale by Falvetti with Cappella Mediterranea.
She accompanied John Eliot Gardiner to the United States with his Orfeo/Vespers in 2016. She has also toured Australia with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra.
At the opera over the last 3 years, she has performed titles like Draghi's El Prometeo , Scarlatti's La Finta pazza , Luigi Rossi's Il Pallazzo Incantato.
In September 2020, the Ambronay Festival offered her an 'à la carte' concert in which the audience chose the most beautiful pieces from Mariana's recitals and recordings: Le Donne di Cavalli, Sogno di una notte Veneziana, Héroines du Baroque Vénitien, Teatro dei sensi…
