Biography Colla Parte Quartet

Colla Parte Quartet
Founded in 1997 by musicians from the Bern Symphony Orchestra, in addition to its focus on the classical-romantic string quartet literature, it also cultivates the contemporary repertoire (including several world premieres) and the expansion from quintet to octet in collaboration with musicians such as Kit Armstrong, Claire Huangci, Patrizio Mazzola, Bruno Schneider, Daniel Zisman and Michael Zisman, the Basel String Quartet and others. The COLLA PARTE QUARTETT was broadcast live and with CD recordings on Radio SRF 2 and received decisive inspiration from Gábor Takács (Takács Quartet) and Sándor Devich (Bartók Quartet). Recordings of works by Leoš Janáček, Anton von Webern, Richard Flury and Béla Bartók are available on CD. The members have studied individually and as a quartet with internationally renowned teachers and ensembles, including Max Rostal, György Pauk, Gábor Takács and the Amadeus Quartet.

The members of the quartet regularly fulfill solo engagements as well as invitations as concertmaster and section leader with various orchestras. The most recent CD recording of Leoš Janáček's string quartets met with a broad response and was broadcast several times on Radio DRS 2.
