Orchestre d’Auvergne
A string orchestra widely respected for its musical quality, the Orchestre d'Auvergne nurtures artistic excellence, the only way to maintain pleasure and satisfaction for its musicians and hence its audiences!

This motivation of the 21 musicians and their successive musical directors Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Aarie van Beek and Roberto Forés Veses, has resulted in many concert tours and regular recordings.

Faithful to its region, the orchestra plays regularly for audiences in the Auvergne and Clermont Ferrand, bringing music to everyone.

The orchestra has a teaching mission, helping audiences better understand classical music, to take pleasure in discovering new and subtle sensations.

Roberto Forés Veses
is the chief conductor and artistic director of the Orchestre d’Auvergne since 2012.

Born in Valencia (Spain), Roberto Forés Veses studied orchestral conducting at the Accademia Musicale Pescarese and the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, where he received his Master Degree under the tutelage of Leif Segerstam.

In 2006, he won the Orvieto Conducting Competition (Italy) with a special prize from the jury. In 2007, he was also one of the winners of the Evgeny Svetlanov Conducting Competition in Luxembourg. This success brought him engagements at the Bolshoï Theatre, Teatro Regio de Torino, Opéra de Nice, Orchestre National de Montpellier, Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi, The Hague Residentie Symphonic Orchestra, and New Russian State Symphony Orchestra.

As an expression of his versatility, he is devoted both to the symphonic and to the operatic repertoire. In 2008 he made his debut at the Teatro Regio de Torino conducting Salome and Elisir d’amore, and at the Bolshoi with Macbeth. In the following years he conducted several French operas Il viaggio a Reims and Don Pasquale (Avignon, Reims, Limoges, Clermont-Ferrand, Vichy), La Cenerentola (Avignon and Vichy), Lakmé and Elisir d’amore at Rouen, and Die Zauberflöte in Vichy. He also conducted Amahl and the Night Visitors and Cosi fan tutte, La Finta Giardiniera at the Svenska Teatern of Helsinki and La Bohème at Orvieto Opera Festival. He recently premiered the world creation of B.R. Earl’s La regina dei capelli d’oro at the Stresa Festival.

Roberto Forés Veses has conducted many orchestras including the Orchestre National de Lyon, Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, Prague Philharmonia, Spanish Radio Orchestra, St Petersbourg Symphony Orchestra, Moscow City Symphony - Russian Philharmonic, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Orchestre de l'Opéra de Rouen, Orchestre de l'Opéra de Saint-Etienne, Orchestre de Picardie, Orchestre de Nice, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Orquesta de Valencia, Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana, Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, Asturias Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica de Extremadura, Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, Orquesta de Córdoba, Navarra Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia Finlandia, Mikkeli Orchestra, Sibelius Academy Symphonic Orchestra, Orchestre de Chambre de Paris and State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia, Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra.

  He regularly performs in many international festivals, like La Folle Journée Nantes and Tokyo, La Chaise-Dieu, Murten Classics, Stresa Festival, Les Flâneries musicales de Reims, Orchestres en Fête, Festival Bach en Combrailles, Les musicales d'Orcival, Festival de la Vézère, Festival des Monts de la Madeleine, Festival de Polignac, Musiques démesurées, Les Grandes Heures de Cluny.

In the season 15/16, Roberto Forés Veses and Orchestre d'Auvergne gave two triumphal tours in Japan with Naoko Yoshino (harp) and then Brazil. In residence at the Sala Cecilia Meireles of Rio de Janeiro, the musicians gave ambitious concerts with young brazilian artists. They also gave concerts in Duque de Caxias et Juiz de Fora. Maestro Forés Veses recent recordings with Orchestre d'Auvergne are : Camille Berthollet at Warner Classics and at Aparté Record Label with Romain Leleu and Naoko Yoshino.

His future projects include a South American, Spanish and Japan Tour with the Orchestre d'Auvergne, concerts and productions of Don Giovanni, Orfeo e Euridice and Die Entführung aus dem Serail at opera houses of Rouen, Reims, Clermont-Ferrand,Vichy, Massy and Avignon.… Roberto Forés Veses will also conduct in the Opera Houses of Reims, Clermont-Ferrand, Vichy, Massy and Avignon.
