Biography Kyeong Ham & Yeol Eum Son
Kyeong Ham
Hailing from Seoul, Kyeong Ham studied with Nicholas Daniel at the Trossingen Musikhochschule and with Dominik Wollenweber at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. He completed his studies as a member of the Berliner Philharmoniker's Herbert von Karajan Academy (2013-2015) with Jonathan Kelly.
Among the many competitions he has won, the most memorable was perhaps the first international Muri Competition for oboe and bassoon, held in Switzerland in 2013, where Kyeong Ham not only won first prize and the audience prize, but was also awarded the Heinz Holliger Special Prize by Holliger himself.
Having played the cor anglais at the Konzerthaus Berlin for one year, he was appointed principal oboist of the Hannover Staatsoper at the beginning of 2016. His appointment with the Concertgebouworkest followed in August of that year.
